Disease Condition: Joint inflammation causing stiffness, swelling, and pain — commonly osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, both diagnosed and monitored by your rheumatologist/orthopaedician.
How We Diagnose: We review your existing medical reports and current medication, then assess joint mobility, swelling pattern, and TCM signs (tongue coating, pulse quality, weather sensitivity of pain).
TCM Acupuncture Pattern: Classified as “Bi Syndrome” — Wind-Cold-Damp obstruction (worse in cold/damp weather) or Wind-Damp-Heat (with visible inflammation).
TCM Acupuncture Treatment Protocol: Local acupuncture around affected joints plus distal points to move Qi and expel Wind-Damp; moxibustion is often added for Cold-type presentations.
Acupuncture Treatment Typical Duration: 10–15 sessions initially, followed by monthly maintenance sessions for long-term joint support.
